Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon

I could have sworn I had written this post already but I can’t find it anywhere so here we go with round two!

I was drawn to the Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon as it says on the packaging that it is waterproof, it’s also hydrating and has an SPF of 15.

The lipstick was put through its paces, I really wanted to know whether it would live up to being waterproof or not.

I would say it is waterproof, I drank plenty of water and coffee while wearing it and while some colour did come off onto my glass and cup they lipstick didn’t come off at all. However when it came to eating it came completely off but we can’t have it all can we.

I got mine in the colour Fuschia Libre, it’s a lovely bright pink. The finish of the Color Boost Lip Crayons are almost gellish, it’s doesn’t have the stickiness of a gloss but still gives off that appearance, which I love because I hate sticky lip glosses.

These cost €10.99 each, I’m not sure I’ll buy them again. They are a nice lipstick but I only liked it, I didn’t love it.

Thanks for reading.

August Beauty Favourites

Not many favourites this month, I’ve been trying to hold back on spending the last few weeks to save for my holidays so it’s a short enough favourites this month, take a read and enjoy J

Bourjois Nude-ist
I bought the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist in July and it hasn’t been off my lips since I’ve bought it. It’s a pinky brown that goes on like creamy silk and dries like to a matte. The colour is very similar to the one Kylie Jenner has been sporting so if you really want her colour I’d suggest this one. It doesn’t dry, and takes forever to come off which is a winner in my books!

Youtube
I love YouTube, I’m addicted to watching makeup tutorials. This month I’ve been watching way more than usual, I’m off to Florida next month and have been watching loads of USA/Sephora haul videos to get ideas of what to buy when I’m over there. I’ve also been looking for more channels to subscribe to, my latest has been Irish Blogger The Beautiful Truth and US vloggers Eleventh Gorgeous.

 The Beautiful Truth  Eleventh Gorgeous

Benefit They’re Real Mascara
My usual mascara’s where put aside this month to make way for the They’re Real mascara. It lives up to the hype, it boosts the volume in your lashes, it’s the blackest black and it doesn’t smudge or budge throughout the day. It’s pretty amazing but it’s an absolute bitch to get off, none of my usual cleansers take it off and even the new They’re Real Remover just about takes it all off, but other than all that it’s a good mascara.

Batiste Dry Shampoo for Blonde Hair
I’ve been holding off getting my hair highlighted so I can get them done a bit closer to my holidays. As a result my roots are in a bit of a shambles at the moment. The only thing getting me through these few weeks is the blonde dry shampoo as it has a blonde colour in the spray and it’s been covering my roots up just enough that I can get another week or two before I have to go to the hairdressers. It’s also helping me get an extra day out of it!

Victoria's Secret Night Fragrance Spray
I picked this up in the airport in July completely forgot about it until I found it in the middle of August. Since finding it, it has been in my bag so I can grab it and spray it on the go. I love the VS sprays; they smell just like the perfumes and are so much cheaper. The mist is musky and probably more suited for night time but I spray it anytime.

Yonka Quintessence Aromatic Candle
Yonka Quintessence Aromatic Candle was in my July Chic Treat Box. I love the smell of it; it really makes me feel like I’m in a salon getting pampered. It would probably be all gone by now but my parents hated the smell and kept blowing it out but I love it, it really chills me out.

What have you been loving this month? Leave a comment below :)

Don't forget to check out Karmisa, they have amazing jewellery and have given me a 25% off your final bill. Just enter "karmisasarah" at checkout.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Review

These Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks are amazing. I bought one a good few months ago when they first came out but I didn’t love all the shades but late last month they released 2 more colours that where a bit more up my street. There are a total of 8 in the collection now (€10.49 each) and if you haven’t tried them yet you need to!

The cream velvet formula leaves your lips feeling like silk on application, all you want to do is rub your lips together when you apply it and I do, a lot. The lipstick dries as a matte after a minute or two and when fully dry will stay on your lips for a long while. As these are a highly pigmented lipstick even if the product starts to wear off the colour will have stained on your lips but without leaving a ring of colour around them that you might get with other lip products.

The applicator is also pretty amazing, you can just swipe it over and it gets perfectly around the lips so no need to line them and if you do go over the lip line you have a few seconds before it dries if you do make any mistakes.

I’m in love with these lipsticks, the packaging is sleek and so handy that I’ve had one or two of the in my handbag since I got them. I hate it when you pop a lippy in your bag and the lid comes off ruining your bag and the lipstick.

The first colour I bought when the collection came out was OlĂ© Flamingo and it’s a bright hot pink. For me it’s not an everyday colour but it’s one for the weekend or a night out.

If you’re new to Beauty Blunders then you’ll not know that I have an obsession with dark lip colours, although this summer I’ve been trying my best to wear some more brighter colours. This shade called Grand Cru, I really couldn’t resist it it’s just the most perfect dark vampy red which is my favourite kind of red.

I’m saving the best for last, Nude-ist, I’ve been wearing it nearly every day. I don’t wear nudes but this is more of a pink brown which I think suits me a bit better. 90’s colours seem to be coming back on the scene and this reminds me of something from that era and it’s also along the lines of the colour Kylie Jenner has been sporting recently so if you’re into those looks I’d really recommend this one for you.

I’m hoping they bring out even more colours because I’m in love with these and I don’t think any other companies have anything similar.

July Favourites

Looking back on July I seemed to have fit in a lot in such a short few weeks!

It started off with my birthday on the second and it was the start on a week of busy concerts. The night of my birthday I went to Kanye West and I was so pleased to say that I got ID'd and seeing as I had turned 26 that day and I was feeling like an oul one this made me extremely happy. Then on the Friday I went to see The Kings of Leon which was just the best concert I think I've been to, at least top ten, mainly because it had fireworks at the end which I don’t think I’ve ever seen at the end of concert.
On both occasions I wore what are my new favourite wellies. They are €20 from Dunnes Stores, I’m not sure if they still have them or not. They look like biker boots and only go have way up the calf which is far cooler to me than looking like you've just come back from milking a herd of cows.
Penneys/Primark also have a similar pair for €18.00.

Ice Cold Baby!
On these long hot summer days and being stuck in the office while it seems that everyone and their mother are out sunning themselves there was nothing more I want after work was a drink and a laugh and for a few days during the summer I got to get my lips around some cocktails and my favourite has to be a strawberry daiquiri. They are so refreshing and cooling and sometimes just a little too easy to drink (Remember kids always drink responsibly).

I’ve also discovered Iced Caramel Macchiatos and Butlers do the absolute best ones. I’m trying not to have them all the time but they are so addictive. If you haven’t tried them yet then you’re missing out.

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara

I’ve been loving this mascara in July. I’ve played around with a few this month but I’ve seemed to always come back to it. It’s so black and long wearing and instantly volumises your lashes. I’ve written a post already about it so check it out here.

Crown Brush UK Metal Madness palette

Another I’ve written a post about (click here). I picked this palette up at the Crown Brush UK stand at IMATS London. I instantly fell in love with it, the colour pay off and pigmentation is crazy and used with MAC Fix+ makes the colours pop even more. I’ve used the palette a good few times this month for day and night looks, it’s was easily one of the best buys from the many things I bought at IMATS.

Fix+ MAC

This has been my saviour this month, not only does it make my eye shadows from my new Metal Madness palette pop but it cools and sets my makeup. It’s been so hot this July that as soon as I’ve stepped out of the shower I’ve been in near collapse with the heat so I’ve reached for my bottle of Fix+ and sprayed it all over my face and it instantly cooled me down. It was great for setting my makeup too, it seemed pointless in doing a full face of makeup only to have it half melted down my face by the time I’ve reached the house door, so a couple spritz of this and I was flying.

Victoria Secret Bombshell

Every time I go to the States or to London I always find myself in a Victoria Secrets store and I’m a sucker for their fragrances. My absolute favourite is Bombshell, I always get it in the spray rather than the perfume as its way cheaper. I think I have about 2-3 bottles floating about my room. I hadn’t worn it in a good few weeks and when I came across it I fell in love all over again. To me it smells like a man’s after shave but in a good way, along the lines of Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce but more girly. I just love it.

I’m sure I have more favourites but these are the ones that have really been my obsession all month. I’m sure I’ll have a good few favourites next month as I’ve been trying not to spend much this month but until then have a great Saturday and thanks for reading. If you have any comments just pop them below.

My Big Boots Haul

I was given a Boots voucher for €50 the other week and yesterday I decided to spend it. At first I didn’t think I was going to spend it all in one go but Sarah being Sarah I managed to spend €74 in total, I don’t even feel like I bought that much but I must have, but because I only really spent €24 I don't feel too bad.

In this post I’ll just be showing you what I bought and I’ll be doing a few posts from this haul over the next few weeks.

Here's what I bought:

I bought 2 Collection Lasting Gel Colour polishes, these are €3.99 each but if you bought 2 you got them for €6.50. I got them in Raspberry 7 and Vixen Red 3. I’ve tried the Models Own gel effect nail polishes and didn’t think they were worth the money so I’m hoping these will be worth the price if not more.

I got 2 of the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipsticks, I’ve never bought these before but I liked the colours that were on offer. These where €7.95 each and had an offer of buy one get the second half price. I chose 260 Amethyst Shimmer and 360 As You Want Victoria. I don’t think these are new but I do think they have just redesigned the packaging, but seeing as I’ve never tried them before they’re new for me.

Boots have finally started to fit permanent Sleek Makeup stands in their stores, it used to be that you could only get them in the Liffey Valley Boots but they are now in Dundrum and Jervis Centre too. I’ve a good few products from them already so I just picked up the Matte Me Gloss in 431 Fandango Purple as I haven’t tried the matte glosses before and the colour really caught my eye. The Glosses cost €6.49 each.

I love my volumising mascaras especially ones that are super affordable so I’m dying to try this Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara. It promises “lash by lash separation, corner to corner volume and length for HD Impact” so I’m hoping it does exactly what it says on the tin (or at least box). Because it’s only new it has an introductory offer of €5.98, after it will cost €8.89 so if it lives up to the hype you still get bang for your buck. Silly Sarah was too excited though and just grabbed the first box she saw and ended up getting it in Brown/Black so it will be interesting to see what the colour is like when I get it out if the box.

Another mascara and another piece from Collection. This is the Colour Lash – All Day Wear Colour mascara, as the name suggests it’s a coloured mascara and I bought it in blue as you do. I’m not sure where I’m going to wear it but it only cost €2.69 so I’m not too worried if I only wear it a few times.

Bourjois where doing a 3 for 2 offer plus a free pair of glasses, I bought 2 of the Rouge Edition Velvet Matte lippies (€10.49 each) and one the new Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks (€10.99). I’ve already bought one of the Rouge Edition Velvet Matte Lipsticks a month or so ago and I’ve wanted to buy more since, they have recently brought out a few more colours in the range that are a bit more darker than the ones they had on offer first. I chose 7 Nude-ist and 8 Grand Cru, I do love the darker colours. The Color Boost intrigued me, it says on the lipstick “comfort & Hydration with SPF15 for 10Hrs” it also says its waterproof and that’s the seller for me, I  can’t wait to see if this is true or not. I’ve a feeling the free glasses won’t suit my face but I haven’t tried them on yet but as my dad says “if it’s free, take it”.

I went over to the Soap and Glory stand to look at the new blush sticks that they have but wasn’t impressed by them, I looked around the rest of the stand to see if anything caught my eye (of course something did, I’m a makeup magpie). I picked up the Archery Brow Tint and Precision Pencil (€13.00), I’ve never seen a brow pencil like this, it has a tinted pen that you’re supposed to fill and shade your brow with and the pencil you use to shape your brows, it sounds very intriguing to me and it’ll be a bit different to what I’m used too. €13.00 seems a bit much for a drugstore brow pencil so it better do the business.

Finally I bought two Barry M polishes from their Aquarium Collection. They’re two toned which I don’t think I have any polishes that are two toned and I have a lot of polishes so I needed to get one for my collection. I got one two toned polish in 417 Arabian and a glitter polish in 412 Mermaid and they both complement each other. This was another multi saver offer of buy one get the second half price and they’re €5.99 each.

Hoping something caught your eye in this post and if you see anything that catches your eye and you want me to do a post about it before another product then leave a comment below.

Thanks for reading :)

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde - The Best Low Cost Mascara on the Market!

I love my mascaras, the more volume they give the better.
I had second thoughts about buying this mascara as I thought I didn’t need it (eh yea that didn’t last long, when do I not need a bright shiny new mascara) but after reading numerous reviews I decided to give it a go, I think I also got it for free when I was on a 3 for 2 Raid in Boots.

Firstly the packaging is awesome; it’s so sleek and shiny and gives it a look that it costs a few bucks. Then we have the wand which is really really good, I usually prefer the regular bristles you get on wands rather than plastic ones but this plastic wand has definitely won me over. I put my love of it down to its uniqueness; the wand is patented and comes with teeny tiny balls in between the bristles giving you an “instant 360° Volume”.
The Volume 1 Seconde Mascara not only instantly volumises but makes your lashes separate thanks to its bristles and little balls (minds out of the gutters ladies). The formula is also a one of the blackest blacks I have seen in a drugstore brand.

This is a long lasting mascara also, the blurb on the website says that it gives up to 16hrs hold with the waterproof offering 24hrs, and I can definitely agree with them as I put my makeup on around 7 in the morning and by 11 at night when I’m taking my makeup off it is still looking as fresh as when I put it on and after going to 2 concerts in the last week and a half where I was drenched by torrential rain it does last in all weathers. That being said I probably wouldn’t want to be jumping into any pools with it on and giving it a good wetting just in case!
Sorry for the droopy eyes, I wasn't long out of bed
It does say easy to remove but it does take a bit more effort than other mascaras that I have used in the past so that would be the only fault that I would have with it. I can only imagine what the waterproof one is like if I have a bit of trouble with the regular one.
This has to get a 9½/10 for me and that’s just me being picky for not coming off as easy as it says it would!
The Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara is a big hit with myself and I have been wearing it nearly every day since I started using it. It will only set you back €12.99 and let me tell you it’s worth every penny!!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
