Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I was lucky enough to go to the preview screening of the new Captain America movie last Monday and the geek on me was thrilled to see it!

I've grown up with two older brothers who love comics and action movies so it was hard avoiding turning into a lover of these type of movies. I didn't think much of the first Captain America movie and really didn't think I was going to love this one but it was really good.

There are lots of surprises, twists and turns and a lot of funny one liners. There were a few things that went over my head and I'll have to quiz my brothers after they go see it. My boyfriend cane with me, he always slags me about how much of nerd I am and while I was laughing at a few bits he hadn't a clue what was going on. I do think that even if you haven't seen the last movie you'll quickly catch on to what's happening, but you might be a bit clueless if you haven't seen Avengers Assemble

The movie is set after the Avengers wrecked NYC and the Cap is working for S.H.I.E.L.D in Washington. I don't want to give too much away but like all good action movies the Cap has a few baddies coming after him, lucky for him though he has Nick Fury aka Samuel L Jackson and the Black Widow aka Scarlett Johansson to look after him.

I will tell you to hang round after the credits for some extra scenes, they definitely leave it open for a sequel or at least it's setting up for the next avengers movie!

Overall this is an awesome movie, the fight scenes are deadly and wowzers to Scarlet, she's looks amazing in that cat suit, definitely worth a watch.

Let me know what you think of it when you see it, I hope you like it as much as I did. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in your cinemas from today.

Rita Ora Nail Collection for Rimmel

I'm a big fan of Rimmel, I have been since I was a young girl, not so much of Rita Ora especially since she's been cast as Mia in 50 Shades (still won't stop me seeing the movie though), so when I heard they were bringing out a nail collection together I was interested to see what they would come up with. Rita has collaborated with many great artists since she came on the scene but I think creating a nail collection with Rimmel is the best collaboration yet.
In this collection there are 12 Shades altogether (€4.99 each)

Lose your lingerie - a pastel pink
Raw as night - a hot pink
Don't be shy - Barbie pink
Let's get nude - a lovely little nude
Midnight rendezvous - a dark purple
Hot White Love - plain and simple white but so on trend
Blindfold me blue - a sea blue
Pillow talk - a pastel blue
Do not disturb - a sea green
Breakfast in bed - a pastel green
Rita rouge - Pillar box red
Orgasm - (the rudeness) an orange

She also has 10 shades of Colour Rush lipsticks but I have enough lipsticks so I decided not to get the lippy, although I have enough nail varnishes too but they really excited me!!
I bought mine in Boots; they had a 3 for 2 offer so I got six of the following:

Midnight Rendezvous
Rita Rouge
Raw As Night
Hot White Love
Do Not Disturb
All of the above where given a single coat and they dried really fast. My favourite of the ones I bought where:
Rita Rouge - After trying it out it's a gorgeous burgundy red, I love colours like that on my nails and lips
Hot White Love - It's a brilliant white, but you will need to give a perfect application on the nails to get the perfect manicure. This one will be great with a tan.
Raw As Night - This is a really light bright red, when I applied it to my first few nails I didn't think I was going to like it but it definitely grew on me, I usually love dark reds so this one surprised me.

I love all the colours and I can't wait to get the rest in the range. They are so affordable and I love how they actually dry quickly, I hate when some polishes claim to dry quickly and really don't. I've only ever bought one or two of the Rimmel polishes years ago so I couldn't remember if they where good or not, but I'm pleased to say that they are amazing and I will be buying them in the future!

If you don't believe me you will need to try it for yourself!

My week in photos

Sunday
After the amazing and heart stopping victory over the French to win the 6 Nations last weekend, my friend and I went to Dublin Airport to welcome the team home. We waited nearly 2 hours to see the boys, the crowds where crazy and I finally got the perfect spot beside the elevator to get snaps off them all!
Brian O'Driscoll
Rob Kearney

Cian Healy
Paul O'Connell (and the Trophy)

Monday
I didn't live up to the Irish stereotype of getting blind drunk on St. Patrick's Day, instead I stayed at home and watched the parade. I did eventually get dressed and tested out some tan products from Cocoa Brown.

Testing out Cocoa Brown

Tuesday
On Tuesday I went to the O2 to see Drake with my friend Megan. This was my second time to see him, the arena wasn't as full as last time but the crowd where still buzzing. I bought the most ghetto looking outfit I could find and I fitted in perfectly, in fact I was probably a little over dressed compared to some of the other girls.

Wednesday
My brows where looking a little crazy and I had an interview on Thursday so I needed to look my best so I booked into Elysian Brow. They're my go to place to get threaded, the girls in there really know their stuff.

Thursday
When I had my facial last week I was recommended by the girls in Pink Beauty to try Nimue Cleansing Gel and Conditioner Tonic. They didn't have any in stock so they ordered it in for me, so on Thursday I picked them up. My boyfriend was with me at the time and gave out to me for spending so much on "crap" for my face, he was so disappointed he's given me a spending ban (we'll see how long that lasts).

Friday
I was in work all day friday and after I went to see Starred Up with my boyfriend, so when I got home I had my March Glossybox waiting for me. This month it had Vita Liberata tan samples, Dove 60 second hair treatment, a Sleek Pout Polish in a limited edition Caribbean collection, a Mitchell and Peach body cream and a Bellapierre Cosmetics shimmer powder.

I don't think this week will be as eventful but we'll see!
Hope you all had a good weekend 😃

Reveiw | Tanya Burr Lip Gloss and Nails Part 1

I love watching Youtube for tutorials, hauls and to see what vloggers think of the latest products, so when I saw that one of my faves Tanya Burr had released her own range of lip glosses and nail polishes I knew I had to get them.
For this post i'm just going to write about the nail polishes. There are 10 polishes in total and each of them have their own unique names that Tanya chose herself.

Penguin Chic - a taupe like grey
Riding Hood - such a lovely pillar box red
Mini Marshmallows - a light baby pink
Peaches and cream - a peachy cream colour
Midnight Sparkles - a dark sparkly purple
Bright and Early - bubble-gum pink
Be Bright, Be Happy, Be You - a little hot pink
New York Night - a dark purple
Mischief Managed - a pinkie red
Little Duck - a pastel green

I bought my 3 on www.cloud10beauty.com, I chose Riding Hood, Midnight Sparkles and Be Bright, Be Happy, Be you. The quality of these polishes are really good, I paid €7.50 for each polish which I think is reasonable enough for what you get.

Be Bright, Be Beautiful, Be You and Riding Hood:

When I first put these colours on my nails I was blown away firstly by the shine and secondly from the coverage. Even from just one coat there was such a high coverage.

Be Bright, Be Beautiful, Be You
The shine is just amazing and the coverage is so thick it almost looks gel like. I really love a wet look nail so this really ticked the box for me.

Riding Hood

Midnight Sparkle

I don't think my photo does this polish any justice. In person it really is a sparkly purple, it reminds me of a supernova deep space colour. I tried to use my camera and my IPhone camera but this was the best shot I could get. There wasn't as much of a shine as the other two polishes and the sparkle disappeared a bit but i'm thinking if I put a lighter polish underneath maybe it will make it pop a bit more.
Midnight Sparkle
The varnishes promise to be chip resistant and they live up to that. I didn't put a top coat on my nails just to see how long they would last on their own and after a week there was only minimal chipping so I presume if I put a top coat on it will last for a good few days.
I love the packaging although I did have a hard time opening 2 of the polishes and had to get my dad to open them because i'm so weak.
Overall I do love them and if I see them in my local stores maybe I'll buy them, it's just a bit of effort to buy them online.

Enjoy your weekend girls and keep an eye out over the next few days for my review on Tanya's lip glosses.

Love Sarah xoxo

Review | Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze and Lovely Legs

Last weekend I went to the Irish Beauty Show and of course I had to go to the Marrisa Carter Cocoa Brown stand. I had watched her a week or two before hand when she was on Xpose talking about her trip to Hollywood to tan the stars at the Oscars and she mentioned that she was introducing 3 new products, the Gentle Bronze - a gradual tanning moisturiser, Lovely Legs - a tanning instant leg spray and the 1 Hour Tan in a new Dark colour.
I'm a huge fan of Cocoa Brown since they came across my path last year. I've already gone through a few bottles of the 1 Hour tan, I use the Chocolate Whip every time I tan to prolong and keep the tan even and the Tough Stuff exfoliator is a staple in my shower for the last few months.

As I have the 1 Hour tan and it makes me pretty dark any way I decided to just get the Gentle Bronze and the Lovely Legs spray. I started with the Gentle Bronze (€5.95), only testing it on one arm. Each morning I would put a layer of it on. The smell was OK, it had a chocolate smell that most of the other Cocoa Brown products have and it dried quickly enough. As I was only using it on one arm and using normal moisturiser on the other arm I could see if there were any differences, it didn’t give it any more or less moisture than the other arm.
No Gentle Bronze
After 7 days of Gentle Bronze
Each day in work I would ask the girls if they could notice any difference, they couldn’t until the end of the week. I suppose if I put a layer on morning and evening it would of darkened more but it did give a lovely sun kissed look (from an Irish sun any way). I’ll keep using it as I’m as pale as Casper after this winter and it will give me a bit of a glow without looking like an Oompa Loompa. I’ve used the St.Tropez gradual tan in the past and that made me look orange so I’m happy with the results of the Gentle Bronze, I’d give it a 4/5.

Last Tuesday I was going to Beyonce and last minute I decided to put tan on. I usually put Sally Hansen on my body if I haven’t put anything on the night before so I decided to try out the Lovely Legs spray (7.95) thinking it would have the same effect (oh lord did it not work out). Firstly it sprayed on bright orange which I should have known by then that it wasn’t going to work out good. With my tan mitt I really buffed it into the skin and it did turn out even and didn’t streak but I was frickin orange. So that’s the day I learned not to test a product just before I go out.
I did however test it on my legs a few days after and the result was really good. I tested against the Sally Hansen leg spray and the results where the exact same. It was slightly orange but for some reason it did work out better that when I put it on my upper body.
I probably won’t buy it again as I rarely get my legs out and it doesn’t look right when I put it on anywhere else, in the end I’d give it a 2.5/5.
Sally Hansen on the LEFT, Lovely Legs on the RIGHT

I have only seen it available online or in pharmacies, I've yet to see it in Penny’s but I’m sure it will be there soon enough.

Have a good day Girls

My Week In Photos

Sunday
Started of the week by attending the Irish Beauty Show at the RDS. It was so good, I bought loads of Crown brushes and the amazing concealer palette, I got my hands on some new Cocoa Brown products (Keep and eye out I'll be reviewing them in the next few days) and I picked up a few lashes too. At the show I got to meet the lovely Suzanne Jackson and chatted to her for a bit, she's such an inspiration for us bloggers.

Monday
I've been hearing a lot about beauty boxes and started to do my research on them so I bit the bullet and signed up with Glossybox. On Monday I received my first box containing a full sized NV lip crayon, full sized Maybelline Master Kajal Liner, H2K Shampoo and Conditioner, a Sleep In Roller backcomb and a Nougat body shimmer, oh and there was a Lindt chocolate bar, it's not in the pictures because I demolished it pretty quickly!! So far I'm pretty impressed by it, i'll wait another month or so and see what the other boxes are like to know if I want to keep up my description, but it's great to know that each month I'll be getting a mystery box full of beauty goodies :)

Tuesday
On Tuesday I got to go to Beyonce, I had never seen her before but I knew she would live up to my expectations. She was so amazing and looked absolutely flawless, her makeup was so good I'm dying to know what highlighter she had I was in awe at her cheek bones, whatever she uses it just made them glisten.

Wednesday
At Christmas I had bought my friend a facial for 2 on Groupon and we finally got a chance to use them. It was so relaxing and the facialist gave me really good tips on what products to use and what I should be doing with my skin. It's felt so soft ever since and I look so fresh face, my makeup looks so much better since as well. On top of the facial I was also given a arm, neck, shoulder and head massage. We where so relaxed after, I would definitely recommend the Pink Beauty Boutique in Dundrum's main street, the girls in there are fab!!!!

Thursday
I've been doing a lot (like A LOT) of internet shopping the last few weeks and everything started to arrive to me this week. I've been dying to get my hands on Tanya Burr lip gloss and nail varnishes so I ordered them online as I don't think they are available in Ireland yet, if they are I think  Superdrug will be selling them. I'm also waiting on some Sigma Brushes too.

That's my week so far, I've been testing out a lot of products this week and just need to write them up so that is why I haven't posted anything this week, but it means I have a good few posts coming up in the next week or so. I've no plans for St.Patrick's weekend i'm just going to take it easy and spend some time with my boyfriend and friends.

Have a great weekend!!!
Love Sarah xoxo

The most inspirational woman in my life

To celebrate International Woman's Day these are the 5 woman that I find inspiration in my life every day.

1) My Mommy

She works tirelessly and looks after me every day, she's the best mother in the world, I give her so much grief on a daily basis and still manages to love me. She always thinks of others and puts her family before herself a trait that she got from her mother and one that has been passed onto me.

2) My Nanny
My Nanny passed away last year at the ripe old age of 91, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her. She had a lot of struggle in her life but she survived no matter what God through at her. She worked hard for her family and just like my mother put others before herself. So much of my memories as a child and teenager involve my Nan and being in her house, it won't be an easy feat to forget her.

3) Beyonce
This woman is such an inspiration to so many women around the world. She speaks to me on so many levels. She has such an amazing talent, a flawless human being, an amazing mother and by the looks of it a wonderful wife.

4) Jaclyn Hill
Now not many people might not of Jaclyn on this side of the pond but if you look at beauty vlogs on YouTube you definitely have her on your subscription list (well at least I do). Jaclyn was one of the first vloggers I subscribed to on YouTube and I love watching her tutorials, she's thought me so much. This woman gives me such brow envy, like they are perfect and her makeup every time is amazing. She's an inspiration to me because she is so confident, so funny (her out takes are hilarious) and she's one of the reasons I started blogging, I'll never have the confidence to do my own video tutorials like she does but blogging is a start. And I can't leave without saying BUTTERY!

5) Michelle Obama
I love the First Lady because she could have stood in the shadow of Obama and have followed by his side for his engagements like many first ladies have done in the past but she decided to take the bull by the horns and do her own thing. She is such a great speaker and has worked on many campaigns involving the young children of America to eat healthy and stay fit, she has great wit and god whatever about my eyebrow envy for Jaclyn's brows Michelle's arms are the most stunning arms I've seen on a woman.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves Mascara | Review

The new mascara love of my life!!

This is the latest in the Scandaleyes collection for Rimmel and boy is it a goody. It's a bargain at only €7.65 (I got mine in Boots). Everything about this mascara ticked the boxes for me and then some.
Firstly the packaging has a textured snake skin effect which I've never seen before, not on a drugstore product anyway, and the tubes are in the same shape as the other Scandaleyes products.

When it comes to the wand it's AWESOME!!!! It's a curved wand, my first mascara with a curved wand ever and I don't know how I've survived without one. When I first tried it I was a bit like "Whoa what’s going on here", but I soon got the hang of it. One swipe of the wand and it gets literally every single lash; usually I’ll have to go from one side of my lashes to the other to get the same amount of coverage but not with this beauty as it perfectly hugs the lash line to get maximum coverage. I've only in the last year started putting mascara on my bottom lashes and the tip of the wand is amazing for getting at those little ones, whether it's made for it or not the tip is absolutely perfect for bottom lashes.

Now I don't know if it's the wand or if it's the mascara in the tube but there are no clumps what so ever, like none at all!! Each lash is separated perfectly and gives great volume too. It's also great long wearing mascara, by the time I’m going to bed I’m usually a hot panda looking mess but not anymore as my eyes look just as good as they did when I first put it on. As you can see in the photo's below it looks like I just put a fresh coat on, but this is just before I went to bed after a good 15 hours of wear!

After 15 hours of wear

This is so far is my star buy of the year, definitely in my February Favourites and I have a feeling I'll be buying this one again! I've finally found a product that does what it promise in their description. So do yourself a favour, get out there and buy this mascara, you will be thanking me when you do.

Before (No make up at all)
After (Full face of makeup)

Enjoy your day!
Love Sarah xoxo
